For those of us who were not lucky enough to go to The Fest and possibly catch Stabbed in Back here is your chance. SIB feature Tim who played drums in the band The Lillingtons and toured with The Eyeliners.  SIB are aggressive yet melodic punk with  and edgier vocals than you would come to expect when hearing the term melodic with punk. Check them out using the link above or the video below. Bill Stevenson was at the helm of their new recording. These guys are constantly mentioned in the vein of OFF and Strike Anywhere.

Minor Bird goes Gonzo....Chicago at The ZACC basement

Hey Friends, Minor Bird and Gonzo Chicago combine efforts for the first time on Sunday April 21st.

Total Fest 2012 vets Criminal Code come back to Missoula on the tail end of their tour with Big Eyes. Criminal Code made the list of highlights from last years Total Fest so if you missed them here is a reprieve.

Gonzo Chicago has The Funs coming through. Up beat low fi garage rock at it's finest.

Wantage USA's newest label addition Needlecraft and Minor Bird's King Elephant come out in support.

All this takes place at The Zacc Gallery on Missoula's North side. The Zacc is beginning to have shows again. All shows are All Ages. Address is 235 North 1st Street just down the road from the Northside Kettlehouse taproom. Doors at 7 show starts at 8 and cost is....$5 for all.

Monday April 15th/ Loma Prieta/ Night Nurses/Agatha/ King Elephant

It is getting close to summer here in Missoula and you can tell as the bands start to make their drives from coast to coast. We here at MBR are getting really excited.

For instance on MONDAY APRIL 15th the bay area's LOMA PRIETA are trekking through. Loma Prieta have been through Missoula before and are not new to the road. They are on their fourth album and are definitely going to kick us all in the teeth when they flip the switch on their amps.

We have combined efforts with WANTAGE USA who were working on a show for NIGHT NURSES out of Denver. Night Nurses played a show in Denver this last November with UZI Rash. If the stars had aligned and a drummer came forth our own Bird's Mile Home would be playing this show in support of this band.

Then we get the info our friends at Rumbletowne's Agatha are looking for a show on the same day. Well folk's we have thrown it all together with the help of the Ole Beck VFW and KBGA college radio to bring you a solid night of rock n' roll.

Missoula and Minor Bird artist King Elephant will be taking the floor this night so come out, have fun and support DIY music in Montana. None of this is possible without all of your continued support.

Fun times with Bird's Mile Home and label update

When Bird's Mile Home went out on tour years ago this was the aftermath of a night in Longview Washington. Friend JED almost blew himself and everyone else up while trying to light a fire with a can of gas and later got hit in the face with a hotdog going faster than the speed of light. Right in the eyeball for a matter of fact.

Mike Watt's a name up there with folks like D. Boon, Keith Morris, and Kira Roessler, Robo and... uh, you know, people one gets a ticket to see regardless when they're coming to town. Watt was an original member of the Minutemen, legendary 80s funk-punk group whose "econo"/DIY/friends-before-careerism approach to music and shows helped re-define and invigorate underground music for generations. He: used to dress like Fidel Castro at shows, and wrote music on a crop of records that sits high atop the Western punk canon with other stuff like Black Flag, the Meat Puppets, Dead Kennedys, Germs and Red Kross. And the stuff continues to stand the test of time, with songs like the Minutemen's Corona offering the soundtrack to Johnny Knoxville's Jackass show, and everybody and their brother having a well-worn copy of Double Nickels on the Dime.

Watt's touring these days with the Missing Men, who're San Pedro punks and who rage full on. We expect greatness.

Total Fest survivors...feed your hunger for more ROCK!

As though we could not get enough this August- Missoula keeps serving up more. Total Fest is over and not many people seem to be out and about. Some are broke, some are still hung over and some are just plum worn out. Well rest up because Missoula is not quitting yet.

TOTAL FEST alumni Muhamadali are coming back. Last time here they played The Missoula Art Museum with Japanther and blew many the minds. So our friends in Tacocat got in touch with us and told us about a couple RAD! bands that were looking to come to Missoula. It is happening this Thursday (amended to TONIGHT!) at Zoo City Apparel ( 139 E Main St) with Seattles' Pony Time and Stickers. Olympia's SharkPact who played Total Fest X last year at Zoo City with Japanther, also were looking for a date and this worked. Along with newly formed purveyors of Missoula's independent rock scene, Skin Flowers, this is sure to be an event to remember.

Whynot TotalFest or Totally Whynot

Total Fest 2011 was amazing Big Business, The Arrivals, Shannon and the Clams, Street Eaters, Kowloon Walled City, The Trashies, Dead and the I could go on and on and on.

One of my favs though was watching an Eagle catch a fish 15 feet away from us while floating the Blackfoot with Dead and the Street Eaters. It was even more amazing when an osprey attacked the eagle and tried to take the fish right above our heads. Johnny and Megan got pictures but lost their camera in a rapid. Damm!

For 2012 we are excited for another 3 days of awesomeness during TF and Whynot Minot is gearing up for the weekend before again. Submissions are open and you can get the info here:

MRR reviews MBR catalog...STOKED!

We were pretty stoked when we picked up issue 341 of MRR and read the review section. MBR 002 through 005 were reviewed in this issue. Various reviewers gave their takes on the records and here is what they thought:

Still Single on MBR

With attempting to get this endeavor off the ground it can be hard to get noticed. Reviewers and sites get overwhelmed with material being sent in and it seems that much can get overlooked as we are noticing. You can read a disclaimer on many sites stating this exact point. With that said I would like to thank Doug Mosurock and crew at Still Single as they have reviewed every record I have sent in to them. They may not have dug the records as much as others have but at least they took the time to listen. Here are a couple if you can say "highlights"
